John Ross Smart Living prides itself on delivering leading Smart Home solutions to residential homeowners and, as part of the newbuild, renovation and refurbishment process, the scope of many projects includes working closely with architects, interior designers, property developers and various trades businesses.
In addition to being an accredited installer of Control4 solutions, we are also a member of CEDIA which is the leading global trade association for Smart Home technology – serving more than 4,000 members and 30,000 professionals from 77 countries. CEDIA as an organisation offers accredited and structured Continuous Professional Development (CPD) classes to design and build industry partners on a number of home technology subjects as part of the CEDIA Outreach Instructors (COI) programme where CEDIA and their members look to engage with professionals within the building and design sectors.
We have recently been accredited as a COI instructors and are now one of CEDIA’s global bank of trained instructors who are experts in their field and are perfectly positioned to educate design and build teams about the possibilities brought by home technology integration.
This CPD will explore the design and installation of technology in the connected home and discusses the possibilities of integrating technology projects.
This CPD will discuss the fundamentals of the Smart Home and explores topics including entertainment, modern building methods, bandwidth and wiring infrastructure.
This CPD will discuss the power of integrated lighting and explore how the feeling of a space can be completely transformed by altering the intensity, placement and colour of light. It emphasises how integrated lighting design will allow you to achieve this in a powerfully holistic manner, alongside simplifying the control and application completely.
This CPD will discuss the difference between a home cinema and media room, the design principles of sound and vision, all the components that make a good home cinema and media room and how to help clients choose and specify rooms.
The structured CPD classes are RIBA and BIID approved, typically last one hour and can be done either in person or via video call.
